Can you spare One Dollar for Pakistan?
www.help-pakistan.com is based on a very simple idea of raising one dollar for the relief fund for the victims affected by the earthquake in Pakistan. The death toll has been climbing well above 40,000 lives, millions people are displaced from their houses and billions of dollars worth of damage is done. It is literally impossible to gauge the actual cost of rehabilitation, which is bound to run well into the multiple billion dollar figure. Being a third world nation, no amount of funding is enough to bring the poor back into their houses. We should all bear in mind that the out pouring of assistance and funding should not simply stop a week after the earthquake when all the press and fan-fare dies out. In our opinion that is actually the time when the country can start the healing process.
Help-Pakistan is a volunteer-run organization, comprising of like-minded individuals who have joined hands to tap the Internet for potential funding. The Internet enables us to reach millions of people in a more direct way; we have pooled our resources to stand up to help Pakistan. As a team we are seriously committed to ensuring that the funds are handled meticulously, and every cent is handed over to the nominated organization.
Our campaign is based on targeting the smallest of contributors. We ask for nothing much - we only request you to at least donate ONE DOLLAR for Pakistan. Consider it as a can of soda, or a coffee at Starbucks. Consider it loose change but this time we ask you to please donate it to PAKISTAN.
If you are not interested in donating then at least help us spread the word and forward the following link to your family and friends:

PS. Anwaar, I hope this post is within the guidelines you have set for this forum, as it is not a news item rather an announcement. I just posted it because it is worthy of bringing attention to you and the members of this forum.
