Who Shall Inherit the Earth?
By Anwaar Hussain
The present chaos in the world is painted by some as a struggle between dictatorships and democracy, yet others have termed it a war between Christianity and Islam, calling it a Crusade. There is neither any such struggle between democratic and dictatorial forces visible anywhere, nor are there are any Crusades going on. We are only witnessing a continuing saga of the Haves and the Have-nots.
Regardless of cast, color, creed, national identities or isms, the world is divided into two main opposing social classes, the tiny Haves and the massive Have-nots. The main driving force of modern history is simply the struggle between these two classes. Religious polarization is merely another tool in the hands of the Haves to keep the Have-nots busy, heads down, in their myriad struggles lest they pause long enough to behold their own emaciated selves and the folds of fat around the frames of the slave masters.
The chief instruments of the Haves are state institutions, propped and funded by huge corporations, through which they keep the Have-nots in line while continuing to milk them. The teeming billions, groaning under the yoke of their own labor, are frequently given strong doses of patriotism---laced with enough religious fervor---to numb the feelings of pain and keep the mills grinding.
Just in case any one doubted that the world’s population is divided between a small fraction who own most of the wealth and the enormous bulk who must work for them in order to survive, here are some facts.
According to a UNDP report, the net wealth of the 10 richest billionaires is well above $130 billion, more than 1.5 times the total national income of the least developed countries.
The WDM (World Development Movement) says that the causes of world poverty are the policies currently pursued by governments and multinational companies. It continues;
"Policies of governments and companies are keeping people poor. Policies that ensure global trade benefits the rich, not the poor - the three richest men in the world are wealthier than the 48 poorest countries combined. Policies that give increasing power to multinational companies - for every £1 of aid going into poor countries, multinationals take 66p of profits out. The powerful are exploiting the poor to make bigger and bigger profits."
To show the current extent of global poverty, following are some key quotations from the UNDP Human Development Report 2003;
"More than 1.2 billion people – one in every five on Earth – survive on less than $1 a day. During the 1990s the share of people suffering from extreme income poverty fell from 30% to 23%. But with a growing world population, the number fell by just 123 million – a small fraction of the progress needed to eliminate poverty. And excluding China, the number of extremely poor people actually increased by 28 million." Hence "in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Arab States, Central and Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa the number of people surviving on less than $1 a day increased."
"Some 54 countries are poorer now than in 1990. Of the 54 countries with declining incomes, 20 are from Sub-Saharan Africa, 17 from Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), 6 from Latin America and the Caribbean, 6 from East Asia and the Pacific and 5 from the Arab States."
"Poverty has increased even in some countries that have achieved overall economic growth, and over the past two decades income inequality worsened in 33 of 66 developing countries with data."
The evidence shows that not only has global inequality not been reduced over recent years, but some recent research has argued that it has actually increased (The Economist 26/04/2001). The Economist puts it another way. It points out that, "This level of inequality is equivalent to a situation where 66% of people have zero income, and 34% divide the entire income of the world among themselves equally!"
As the earth’s resources continue to diminish fast, the greed of the Haves has now reached a feverish pitch in direct proportion. In their quest to siphon out the last of the riches from the earth’s bowels, they will travel far with their false ideologies and insidious creeds. Anyone hindering their feeding frenzy will be obliterated without a second thought.
Take the saga of a resource-rich region of the world, for example. The history of Middle East since the discovery of oil has evolved around the lengths to which the UK and USA will go to maintain control of this oil and to prevent any rival from gaining a foothold there. Mass murder of Middle Eastern people, political coups, assassinations and various stage-managed social upheavals have been but merely the cause and effect of the plan to loot and plunder. The more the media statements from politicians and their subsequent actions are analyzed, the more apparent the monumental deceit and deliberate misleading becomes.
Therefore, to think any more that the present Iraq war was foisted simply to overthrow a brutal dictator and free the Iraqis or to stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction is as naïve as it sounds. It is being fought over a key energy source, oil, of which Iraq has the second biggest reserves after Saudi Arabia. The chief aim is to secure future supplies of such energy resources, essential to the political and economic well being of the ruling elites. Period.
In other words, this war is no different from any of the wars that have taken place in modern times. It's a commerce war. The greed of a few is driven by the competitive struggle for profits between corporations and states. Conflicts over sources of raw materials, investment outlets, markets, trade routes, and strategic choke points to control and protect these are the essential manifestations of the gluttony of the few.
When the Haves judge that their "vital interest" is threatened - e.g. needing to secure access to a key raw material, trade route or military outpost - they go to war. Global greed of the Haves, therefore, breeds war. Consequently massive propaganda exercises are employed by the state to stoke the fears and anxieties of the Have-nots regarding their material poverty and physical insecurity to justify these wars.
The problem is further compounded by the fact that there are competing gangs even among the Haves because of the natural rivalry of their greed. Although secret organizations like the Bilderbergers exist to minimize this competition and help share the loot equitably, unquenchable avarice can be a dangerous thing. The real evil in this world is thus caused by the adversarial gangs of ruling class hoodlums who control all media outlets, and the ignorance of the Have-nots who support them. The purpose-built divisiveness of class, race, nationalism and religion by the ruling elites further strengthens their cause. It is thus that the world is brought to the brink of a blood-bath for possession of its precious assets.
In one sense, though, the present conflict may be called a Crusade. Currently, the Muslims happen to be sitting on 70% of the world’s energy resources, and the Christian West’s ruling elite are rooting for the same. But if by some quirk of fate, a few alternate sources of fossil riches were found out in, let’s say, Greenland or Iceland, the Crusade would shift there faster than one can say the names of these countries.
The only counter to this onslaught of the Haves then is a united world community without frontiers based on all the Earth's resources, natural and industrial, becoming the common inheritance of all humankind and being used to satisfy people's needs rather than for cutthroat profit--all the while guarding against the rise of yet another class of Haves amongst the Have-nots. A simple human necessity, the idea needs no ism for crutches.
It is by now a given that the present ruling elites propagate wars. Therefore, to get rid of wars, the threat of wars and the constant preparation for war represented by maintaining huge armed forces - this class of blood suckers has to be got rid of. To break the yokes around their necks, the Have-nots of the world have to combine their energies. And while they are attempting that, they have to make sure not to ally themselves with even a tiniest fraction of the Haves. Carrying their swords and Crosses wrapped in national flags, the Haves tend to behave like yeast fermenting the entire milieu around them.
That voices were raised against the war, millions of voices, shows that there is hope…..the hope that the Have-nots will one day realize the potential for mutual dependence and support, the hope that this is not merely wishful thinking and has tangible basis in material reality rather than mere moral conjecturing.
The ultimate question, then, between the Haves and the Have-nots: Who shall inherit the earth?

A Call to Arms (In modern-old English)
By: noise
Come all ye and hear the tale that hath yet to be told. Come my brother and sister and give ear to these sad tidings. Were it not for men to be just and honorable, I would bid thee not listen, but alas it is the goal of men to be and act thusly in the way of integrity. Where is integrity? Were it not once the symbol of a society that is cultured, honest and Truthful? And for where has gone this Honesty, Trust and Cultured Society of Integrity?
It cannot be found in the lands of the New World, North America or Otherwise. The New Corporatism World Order is a farce, a liar and led by a murderous cabal of hideous subhuman creatures from whence I know not they cometh, mayhap's it be the abyss itself? My fellow men and women, lovers of Peace, Hope and friendship, I beg ye stand now. I beg with heavy heart that thy love rise up and be shined forth for the sake of the Children and their Children's Children..
Can it be that a man, one appointed by the People who's madness knows no bounds nor those of it's handlers, be made to face trial for it's injustice, cruelty, crimes against the nation, humanity and the nations of the world? Is it not Our Just and Righteous Responsibility to Crush the Skull and scatter the bones of an enemy that wipes away hundreds of years of progress acting against the above good principles? Is it not also an act of compassion for the brave folk who risk their lives for it's lies in a foreign land? My fellows the time is now at hand, the calling is beyond my meager words to even grasp the pen to give you focus on the sickness of this creatures actions.
Impeachment is such a soft word to speak of what aught be done to the current being, earth and it's inhabitants have fallen viciously victim to. It is said from the old school tabloids and the like that to revolt is to become that which you hate. I am not one to squabble this nor have I the intent. I only forecast that doing nothing to go against the growing shadow cast upon our lands of free men and women, utter darkness if nothing is made in measure against this coming storm. It is as if modern man with his instruments and things cannot see even a hurricane, the hurricane that most men already know approaches yet do not convey it's existence among themselves. Lost and fearful they betray the self. Sweet children of hope, we can avoid the storm. We have weathered much to get where we are today.
Listen oh men of heart, free yourself and your children will have the means to take care of themselves. Bravery is not a man on a stage depicting some great deed, it is the courage to stand up and voice your knowledge and awareness. These backbiters and moneybags of men feel not, they have nothing but their moneybags and fear. Like thieves send them on there way packing, so that your few crumbs are safe from their blades in your backs. Fear them not and look into the eyes of your children and let them know you will protect them, even when harm comes to corrupt or ruin you, your family, or your good family name, laugh at them, their fear and inhuman ignorance!
Dear Countrymen, Patriots, Men of Good will, People of Hope, Let not the darkness prevail, Let us not fail to secure a prosperous future of Freedom for our beloved people and land. This is a call to arms. This is a call for Impeachment. This is a call for leadership, for leadership this nation lacks now. Be ye not vain nor proud, but honest and unmovable. Do not take up a gun, shake your fist, make a sign. Your voices are your guns, your fist a desperate cry for your future and those of our most beloved nation, the children, lady liberty and the continued observance of our Constitutional rights, your sign a shield against the ignorance of what could only be labeled (and even this is unmeant praise) a parasitical regime infesting Our Nations Capital.
The Lord, God(s) help us! We must fight, we must act, and we must be heard! Shout from the Roof tops "the enemy is in the gates,"no more wars,"not in our name!.." Whatever the battle cry we must engage them. Write your senator, congressperson, or monster in the top office. Correct those misinformation networks through pen or prose, direct mail or e-mail. It is now apparent and clearly over and over that nothing lay in the future but more treachery by psychopathic warmongering fanatics, we must take the fight to them and not cease! Let them be the ones with the nightmares of our battle cry and not us suffer another night sleepless wondering when our own leadership will attack us again and by what means.
Were it better to await the police state, concentration camps, death squads of an era passed, when our Mothers and Fathers fought to End the hideous name of war itself, I would not be writing thusly. Was it not the intention of a grand last Super Power to act in honor and humanity vs. enslavement and torture? Again I ask, where is Integrity?
Our buildings smashed.. (9-11) our economic system in shambles.. (billions in debt) the creation of false information to create murder for greed.. (WMD, Iraq War, Oil for food scandle...!) A well known hurricane downplayed as if unknown.. (Katrina) human rights, a principle the nation was founded on.. (torture abu-ghraib, Gitmo,..) the fear mongering, paranoia, loss of free press, our right to own property.. It is well beyond me to go on. Please I beg of you for the sake of the nations integrity and for the sake of humanity and our world, To Arms my brethren, to Arms!
They deny racism yet talk of welfare queens, putting a spin on positivity and progress. I am not implying that the able bodied not work, but quite the opposite. They speak of good intentions and discredit not only themselves but the whole nation by the exact opposite of their so called intentions. The single greatest threat to the Environment, the Local Welfare, Liberty, Common Good, National Integrity, Peace, Hope and prosperity is destroying all of these, our greatest values. Won't you Rise up and meet the Call to Arms? It is Dissent that protects Democracy, it has always been thus. They call us names while we protect their rights. Did we not learn in the last great world war that which is penned in the Constitution that all men are created equal. Need we our foreign brothers to remove this cancer within the confines of Our White House? Are we not first tasked to remove it ourselves before great losses of lives do it for us?
Rise and shine, wake up, heed the call - To Arms My Brothers and Sisters, To Arms!
In closing I am compelled to add, I was raised believing In American Action not American Apathy. I am not asking you to feel for Me in Our current plight, I am asking you to heed the call to Arms.
I know, wishful thinking at best. Us have-nots need to do something though!

I don't know... I grew up in a household of WWII survivors, and Vietnam vets....with a grandmother, as well, who served as a nurse in WWII and managed to survive the depression, also! I find these people so remarkable, so driven by courage, that I have a difficult time complaining of my condition as an american as a "have~not". I shake my head at the ones who claim to "have~not" or think they just may KNOW what it actually IS to "have~not". I think this US of A has greatly become "the land of expectations"! I feel as if the american public, in masses of numbers, think they are somehow "due" aide and assistance from this government of ours. Perhaps, this was the thought of our forefathers, perhaps....BUT..... time, and time again, this has proven NOT to be fact! I think our opportunities are much more plentiful than other places on this great planet. I am of the multi layered facets of the LOW of the lowEST class of "average" americans. We have NO insurance for our children. We can barely guarantee food on the table in supply to last the week. We have no insurance on our vehicle. We don't have college financial plans for our little ones. We can't afford to place our loving parents in a fine "home" for their "golden years". I could continue in heart~breaking fashion...why should I? The government did not ask ME to have MY kids! It is NOT the job of the government to provide food stamps for us. It shouldn't be the duty of the government to ensure the higher education of my children. My children are given free education through the public school system. This may be ill~funded, yet, does provide a GREAT basis to begin with, if the parent is preparred to involve themselves WITH the betterment of the education. And as for the "home" for the parents....oh boy...!..The children of the TRUE have~nots...they are not going to be so honored with such a lack of respect!....NOT in THIS family...in come cultures, the family actually cares for the other family members, all the way tfrom the kiddies, to the recessive stage of the elderly. I think the point I'm trying to make is....I, as one of these "have~nots" described, do not remember the day I EVER was forced to eat !/2 rancid hamburger meat, nor darn socks for a bag of rice to feed my children! These men and women....the ones who provided such a wonderful life for us...they age...they wonder...where did we go wrong? How do I know they do?....Grandma is now 89 yrs. oldShe STILL cringes when she hears me complain of the prices of gasoline....would you like to know her reply?....ahem..."GET ANOTHER JOB!!! AND QUIT YOUR QUARLIN!" Just maybe...we should start to see the things we do have....the government cant take it all...there is still vegetation, there is still nature, there is still free will and intelligence in this world...USE it...better yourselves....be what you want to be...this is the land of opportunity...seize your opportunities...make it happen...I will dream of my dreams coming true, and in the mean time...I will do all I can to ensuyre the possibility of this happening/ after all...I am in control of my own fate. The day we start to think we dont have enough is the day we have lost touch with reality...we all have enough...share what we have, make more possibilities, and learn to depend upon ourselves...TEACH our children! EDUCATE ourselves, and our young. There is only ONE way to EVOLVE to the "haves" ... IMHO...STOP having the mindset that you NEED more than what you have to be fulfilled...be fulfilled with what you HAVE!!! In the words of my departed Grandfather, Purple Heart recipient...."Don't be such a damned cry baby!" (And as for the Vietnam vet...well this "have" EARNED all he HAS...he is now ditching a 32 yrs long blue collar laborious toiling JOB for a well educated position as CEO and founder of his OWN new business! HE did this, not anyone else, and he is perfect example of my point...He watched as his brother, his friend died in his arms...he watched as this government changed his life, and the lives of his men...he fought for our opportunities...he didn't complain when he did NOT "have" a homecoming...he didn' t complain when the government was done with his services after his life altering tour...he made a life for himself...he has what he EARNED...let's all try THIS!)

It is the duty of your goverment to provide food, clothing and shelter to anyone who might have an immediate need for it. It is also the duty of goverment to ensure that everyone gets an equal oppurtunity to develop their skills so that they may contribute to society effectively, earn a living and hence be able to provide for themselves. It is a stand of extreme arrogance to assume that anything you might have achieved has been without the help or input of others in society and not least of all God Almighty. You should always, always hold your goverment accountable for it actions and deeds. Your goverment exists solely to look after your affairs.

Yes, our government certainly has looked after our affairs, 'jebeltariq'; the problem is that they are making decisions for Americans, that they have no business in doing. They have taken control of our children and are continuously squashing our civil rights. Americans are waking up to this and their new found awareness will be reflected in upcoming elections. I foresee political death to many career politicians.

Arrogant, I may be. I have been accused of worse, now that I think about it. I can't say that I have not received aide from those who love me, and from friends/family...but I CAN say that I haven't received aide from this government of mine. I was brought up to think for myself, to take care of "my own", and to dream the impossible dreams that take intent efforts to make into realities. Some of my dreams have come true, some have not. I can't think of the last time I blamed my dreams not coming true on my government. I can't think of one time I did this at all. I do appreciate the fore thoughts of our fore fathers. I do enjoy the benefits of these mens ideals and actions. I, also, watch as our elected officials continually try to rape us of our freedoms, and take less and less responsibility for "their own"! This is where the teachings of my parents come in....FEND FOR YOURSELF!!! What do I think would happen IF...IF there was another hurricane of massive devastation, and consequently...how about adding another terrorist attack to this time line...and maybe even a tragic illness .. OH woe is me...what shall I do?Should I call my dear loving and all caring UNCLE?...who UNCLE SAM? ? Give me a break...the military has this saying...and BOY is it true to form..."hurry up and wait"!...Thats just what Id be doing IF I were in these predicaments..UNLESS...yes, that is, unless we thought enough of our personal safety and well being to FEND for ourselves...We have taken action...we don't just speak it, we walk it...The back packs full of survival gear are just ONE sign; there are five of them...one for each of us, packed with just enough for each to carry, depending upon his/her size and capabilities. It's just ONE of the ways to begin to plan for the future ... or would you prefer to "hurry up and wait" for Gen. Honore? HA..HA...maybe IF youre really LUCKY...Bush may just fly over your tragic alley ways and cry a tear for you ...right before he gets on his jet plane and heads for the cushy abode in which he resides...AAAAHHHH...comforting, i think...no WAIT...I am packed and ready to go at any given point. This is MY life, and I plan to make it all the way until the "whatever almighty" tells me its time to go...um...Im sorry, I jsut have a hard time with the thought that it should be the governments "duty" to take care of which I....yes, I said I, have been blessed! How silly...would you allow the bull to run through YOUR china shop?!!! HELL no!! Come on guys, strive, educate, and acheive!!! If you want something done right...do it yourself!

I feel very silly saying this but has it struck you that your electoral system doesn't work hasn't worked and probably will not work in the near future unless some of you especially those of you that are ready to take matters into your own hands take over the running of your country in some clever way (with no bloodshed if possible!). But if you are relying on your electoral system you are seriously deluded. A few powerful elite control everything! The senate, your congress, the media, the election campaign purse strings, those who administer and count your votes etc. Your entire system of checks and balances has been made a mockery of. Your so called democracy is a complete facade for global domination and control. Your country has been running roughshod over the lives of other people for decades. In South America, In Africa, In Asia, In the Middle East. You can name any corner of this earth and they have interfered using the most devious tactics and strategies, using your taxes and through decisions made by your elected leaders. You need to do something about it or those most grieved and trampled upon are going to take matters into their own hands as they have already done. Blood letting leads to more blood letting as you know. Perhaps those of you that really care can peacefully form their own breakaway republic? After all you have a right to self-determination don't you?? Or would you rather prefer the "every man for himself" strategy like our friend "element"?

Yes, jebeltariq, I am well aware of the problems with our electoral system; my eyes are wide open. The problems we face in the U.S. are many and they are enormous. I do not partake in "every man for himself" style thinking either. I am active and responsible with political decisions I make. I pay attention to what's going on at the federal and state levels of my government, very vocal. I wish all citizens were active at least a fraction of what I am. What to do?
Let me lay out a piece of U.S. history and see if you can guess what year this happened:
A screamingly close election. Allegations of fraud. Democrats and Republicans, North and South, black and white---all at loggerheads.
With each passing day, the conflict becomes more complex. Hard-eyed political operatives from both parties rush south to fight on every front. "Spin" is everywhere, the truth hardly to be found. From coast to coast, Americans alternate between anger, astonishment, and despair.
One candidate got more popular votes. But he was ultimately defeated by an astonishing sequence of events---culminating in the tie-breaking vote of a single Justice of the United States Supreme Court. WHAT YEAR DID THIS HAPPEN?
It was 1876. Samuel Jones Tilden, the nineteenth President of the United States, was elected on Nov. 7, 1876, as the candidate of the Democratic Party to succeed the outgoing President Ulysses S. Grant. Samuel J. Tilden was never sworn in as President of the United States. He was never inaugurated. He never resided in the White House or signed a single bill into law. Although he won the election, he never became President, and was forced to stand by helplessly while the man he defeated, Rutherford Hayes, took possession of the nation's highest office.
Tilden was the victim of one of the greatest frauds in American political history. He received a quarter of a million more votes than his opponent. That in itself would not make a man President, for in our double system of voting we choose, not a Presidential candidate, but an Electoral College that meets to select the winner of the election. A man [or woman] may lead in the popular vote and still not be chosen by the Electoral College. But Tilden also received a clear majority of the Electoral College----at least, when the first votes came in. [From: THE STOLEN ELECTION By: Lloyd Robison, 1968, 1996 Foreward copywrite: 2001, Publisher: Agberg, Ltd.]
Surprised? You shouldn't be. History has a way of repeating itself until the lesson is learned. I am hopeful though, I see anger and outrage in so many more Americans now; more every day with the scandals being exposed. Americans fell asleep at the wheel, big time. The current administration, in a sense, might very well be the best thing that has ever happened to this country. They are greedy, lying, evil people and all, except a few, need to be thrown out of office and locked away at federal and state levels. And when that's done we can turn our attention on the banks, the corporate heads, other international supporters of the regime, and all those shadow people who pull the strings, join with the rest of the world and take not just my country, but the planet back.
I'm with Anwaar as he says, "We are all in this together." By the way, jebeltariq, thank you for your posts, and may I ask what country you are from?
Yours in Solidarity, Michelle

Hello Michelle,
Your comments only seem to reinforce the argument that the American political system, that bastion of democratic capitalism that the USA is so intent on ramming down the throats of the rest of the world, doesn't work. Perhaps an alternative should be considered?
As for my ethnicity/nationality, I think its best left outside the picture as this sort of information only leads to stereotyping. Suffice it to say, that I am a living, breathing member of Homo Sapiens resident on planet Earth! (chuckle chuckle).

Hello again jebeltariq,
Let me toss a couple of quotes at you:
For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong. — H. L. Mencken For every problem there is a solution which is simple, obvious, and wrong." — Albert Einstein
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, and is always followed by a dictatorship. The average of the world's great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back again to bondage.
— Sir Alex Fraser Tytler (1747-1813), Scottish jurist and historian. Professor of Universal History at Edinburgh University in the late 18th Century. From the 1801 Collection of his lectures.
Like I said, history has away of repeating itself. The United States is young compared to other countries; a little over that 200 years mentioned above. Our Founding Fathers were playing with ideas never tried before except maybe in Greece. They tried to take the best from many other law systems. From some things I read, maybe it was flawed, purposely, right from the start. People of opposing opinions struggled against each other for their ideas to be implemented. It was a give and take to the final creation of the United States of America.
So, our lessons are hitting home hard now. These are difficult times for some of us Americans who see more than most. Everyone outside [and in] this country can tell us what is wrong, but they can offer no practical solutions. History will repeat again, unless we learn the lessons. Who has magic glasses for that? This is a big country, how do you join and mobilize the population to take action? I don't have those answers. I can support groups and individuals that work for change, continue to be vocal, and distribute truth as I see it. Is that enough? I just don't know.
As for your last comment, I know what it means to be stereotyped for the many things that I am: gender, belief system, lifestyle, and as an American. Every time I read an assumption of what Americans are [are they that stupid?, materialistic, insensitive to other cultures,....], I cringe. I am none of those things. I consider myself a child of the Universe, connected to ALL; what I do to others, I do to myself.
Yes, my country's government is awful, but who on this planet, from what country doesn't have a crappy government? We're all in the same boat, jebeltariq.
Yours in friendship, Michelle
PS: one more quote!
Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on them (public offices), a rottenness begins in his conduct. — Thomas Jefferson

Michelle.... Alas! You misunderstand me. Your country is not awful! I never said your country is awful. I never said Americans are insensitive or stupid. If I thought those awful things I wouldn't be wasting my time on this discussion forum. You see I am on the receiving end of the foreign policies implemented by the junta that runs your country.
As for the quotes that you have so eruditely included in your comments, they are observations by mere mortals and are not necessarily irrefutable truths in themselves. Democracy is not the only option as a solution to mankind's problems. Have you ever sat back and pondered on an alternative?
Yours in affirming the Truth, jebeltariq

jebeltariq,
I didn't think that you meant anything negative about my country, or Americans. The comment was made by myself that the U.S. government is awful. As for statements about Americans, these are ones that I have read in the past by others, not you.
And yes, I do ponder on other alternatives. However, in our world, it seems to me, no matter what type of government is in place corruption and abuse of power always surfaces. Some days I am so weary waiting for "men" to appear in our world who are enlightened and humble enough to lead their people. I see mankind's struggle as a spiritual one where the "self" battles the soul. If we do not acknowledge our own "dark side" how can we expect others, leaders included, to do the same?
With very great esteem and regard, Michelle

Yes,jebeltariq, we are all under the same heel.many of my countrymen fail to realise that. We are, through our humble forum, attempting to alter that fact. By changing minds,we can change the world. To use a well worn expression, we are all in this together.

Does any one here (on this forum) have a plan of action on how to go about changing the situation or is it just restricted to dissemination of information?
