Scholars Repudiate Official Version of 9/11

January 27, 2006 -- An influential group of prominent experts and scholars have joined together alleging that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11. The members of this new non-partisan association, "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" (S9/11T), are convinced their research proves the current administration has been dishonest with the nation about events in New York and Washington, D.C.

These experts contend that books and articles by members and associates have established that the World Trade Center was almost certainly brought down by controlled demolitions and that the available relevant evidence casts grave doubt on the official story about the attack on the Pentagon. They believe that the government not only permitted 9/11 to occur but may even have orchestrated these events to facilitate its political agenda.

The society includes U.S. and international faculty and students of history, science, military affairs, psychology, and even philosophy. According to its spokesmen, S9/11T represents a concerted effort to uphold the standards of truth and justice and to strengthen democracy in this nation, which has taken a terrible hit in the aftermath of 9/11, when "everything changed." Its function is to bring scientific rigor to the study of 9/11 phenomena.

The members of this group are dedicated to exposing falsehoods and to revealing truths behind 9/11, "letting the chips fall where they may." The evidence has become sufficiently strong that they are speaking out. They are actively devoting themselves to reporting the results of their research to the public by means of lectures, articles, and other venues.

The society includes numerous notable professors and scholars, including:

• Morgan Reynolds, Texas A & M Professor Emeritus of Economics, former Chief Economist for the Department of Labor for President George W. Bush, and former Director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis

• Steven E. Jones, Professor of Physics, Brigham Young University, co-chair of S9/11T and the creator of its home page and its forum

• Robert M. Bowman, former Director of the U.S. "Star Wars" Space Defense Program in both Republican and Democratic administrations, a former senior Air Force Colonel with 101 combat missions, who is also a Catholic Archbishop

• Lloyd DeMause, Director of The Institute for Psychohistory, President of the International Psychohistorical Association and Editor of The Journal of Psychohistory

• James H. Fetzer, Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, author or editor of more than 20 books and co-chair of S9/11T

• Andreas Von Buelow, former assistant German defense minister, director of the German Secret Service, minister for research and technology, and member of Parliament for 25 years

The society, founded by Professors Fetzer and Jones, who serve as its co-chairs, is approaching 50 members to date. Fetzer, a philosopher of science, observed that the government's "official account" is not even physically possible, because it violates laws of nature. "What we have been told is fine," he said, "if you are willing to believe impossible things. Serious scholars don't believe in tooth fairies."

Beyond encouraging its members to vigorously express their concerns on this score through lectures, conferences, symposia, articles, and books as well as other access routes that publicize their findings, the society's initial activities, which are expected to increase in frequency and intensity, include the following projects and endeavors:

• Professor Jones is refining his influential analysis of the physics of the collapse of buildings at the World Trade Center.

• Professor Fetzer is editing a collection of new studies about 9/11 that will include contributions from the members of S9/11T.

• A major conference is being planned for this fall to further inform the American public about the group's most recent findings

VERSAILLES, MO. -- Perhaps the most controversial documentary produced about the 9-11 attacks was recently aired on Australia's "TEN" television network and placed second in the ratings.

Despite efforts to suppress the information and questions raised in "911 - In Plane Site," an increasing number of military experts and commercial airline pilots are coming forward to support and validate the information contained in the documentary. Many are now calling for a re-opening of the investigation into the September 11 attacks.

The 90-minute program was aired nation-wide in Australia and resulted in a much higher than usual response from viewers.

"Normally, we receive 12 to 24 calls after airing a TV show. After airing '911 - In Plane Site' we received 548 calls. Only 8 were negative," said Monica Forlano of the "TEN" program scheduling department. Callers requested that the show be aired a second time.

E-mails poured into the producers of "911 - In Plane Site" expressing support and appreciation for the production, as well as sadness, fear and anger because of the apparent cover-up of facts about the tragedy, according to the report in the documentary.

Dave vonKleist, producer of the documentary, said he is hopeful that the attention the video has received in Australia will prompt U.S. networks to give serious consideration to airing the program

"The compelling evidence presented so authoritatively in the documentary needs to be shown to the people of the world. The story we have been told and the evidence just do not match. The American people have a right to see this," said vonKleist.

"Every country has been dramatically affected by 9-11, and the evidence indicates that we all have been lied to by government officials. The public and the media have been deceived. Journalists have a responsibility to be the eyes and ears of the public, and to hold public officials accountable. Now that this evidence is available journalists should be anxious to bring it to light for public examination," he added.

Imagine living next to a wealthy but violent and volatile neighbor who took an enormous life insurance policy out on his vibrant and healthy wife.
The pugnacious husband--and his equally violent brothers--had earlier published a manifesto describing the benefits of murder and insurance fraud, called the PNAC.
A week later the woman is found murdered. Her blood is found inside the house and car. While investigators attempt to search for more clues, the husband orders the car destroyed. Meanwhile the house is cleaned, detectives are ordered off the case and local newspaper reporters are forbidden to write investigative stories about the case"because the wealthy local publisher is also an influential friend of the husband,s.
Indeed, powerful political friends of the husband cast suspicion on distant relatives living several thousand miles away. The security cameras inside the house offer no clues (because the tapes all mysteriously disappeared) but a number of ID cards belonging to distant relatives are scattered around the premises. The obviousness of this planted evidence is ignored by normally objective persons.
And in a remarkable twist, the husband receives his massive insurance payout while the local mayor, also a friend of the husband,s, becomes a hero"Man Of The Year"--for his efforts to allay all the suspicious, unanswered questions of reporters, first responders and bereaved family members.
The WTC-7, the massive government building housing branches of the SEC, Secret Service and CIA, was demolished under extremely suspicious circumstances. The subsequent crime and cover up was exactly like the scenario outlined above.
Imagine the US Senate Building collapsing and no official investigation conducted by the US government and none demanded by the mainstream media. Those in charge, who benefited in a thousand different ways, deliberately impeded any investigation of the crime but were instead rewarded for their negligence or complicity.
If that does not indicate guilt, I do not know what does.
But does a massive cover up (and mountains of circumstantial evidence) indicate guilt?
Yes. In civil cases and espionage cases and fraud cases, such evidence would result in indictments and convictions. Why not then, in the case of 911,
where over 3,000 persons were executed?
Branches of the US government, housed in the massive 47 story WTC-7"representing your government and mine"were purposely destroyed. Those in charge of the crime scene, New York mayor Giuliani ("Man Of The Year") for example, prohibited any investigation. Instead the crime scene was quickly destroyed.
Likewise, those entrusted with safekeeping the nation that day were promoted. People like General Richard Myers. Those entrusted with capturing the alleged culprits failed miserably. Like George W. Bush, who was rewarded with reelection while OBL remained free. Those responsible for the national security of the nation before 911 likewise failed miserably. Like George Tenet and Condoleeza Rice. But, like the others, Rice received a promotion and consolidated even more power while Tenet got a $5 million dollar book deal.
By contrast, those honest FBI officers who asserted the 911 case was more complex and shadowy than the official government version were threatened, passed over for promotion or labeled troublemakers. Those who accepted the government version of events were promoted.
And lastly, the guy who leased that government building only weeks before it was purposely destroyed? He was rewarded with hundreds of millions of dollars. How obvious does a crime have to be before people can see it?
But the greatest indicator of guilt lies in the suspicious behavior of people after the crime. Convinced they have "gotten away with the perfect crime, suspects lie, cheat and steal. They plot vendettas against honest people, commit further crimes, create increasingly intricate lies (WMD), threaten witnesses and waste their ill-gotten fortunes (trillions), all the while becoming ever more vicious and greedy.
Indeed, everything that has happened before, during and after 911 indicates proof positive that the Neocons committed the crime. And any objective court of law,if one truly existed,would convict them in a New York minute.

On Wednesday, February 1, a quiet, “churchy-looking” gentleman in a white shirt and tie walked into a packed auditorium on the campus of Utah Valley State College and electrified the room like a rock star. The 150-seat auditorium was filled to capacity, with every seat occupied, and people sitting in the aisles from the stage floor to the back of the room. Video cameras on tripods lined the back row. Two documentary-film crews were in attendance, in addition to the school’s camera crew, and various independent journalists. Seven “spill-over” rooms, with seating for 40-50 each, were also filled to capacity. On this very conservative campus (in the most conservative county in the most conservative state in the union), where community leaders pulled out all the stops in 2004 to prevent Michael Moore from speaking as part of his anti-Bush, pro-Kerry “Slacker Uprising Tour,” Dr. Steven Jones, this pious professor from the Mormon Church-owned Brigham Young University, calmly, gently, gave a simple physics lesson on the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings, the implications of which awed the audience with a sense of world-historical significance, and implied an indictment of the present administration so utterly devastating that it made Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 look like a Bush apologia.

If Dr. Jones’s work ever breaks into the mainstream media, and the rest of the country reacts the way the Utah County audience reacted, traditional political divisions will evaporate like steel beams exploded with thermite, and the whole lot of them, the Democrats and the Republicans, will be swept away, along with the military-industrial complex that has apparently managed to subvert the constitution of these United States and to con the American public, mesmerized by the shock of 9/11 and hypnotized by spell-binding incantations of freedom and patriotism, into going along with their mad plans for world domination.

Hours after a commercial plane struck the Pentagon on September 11 2001 the US defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, was issuing rapid orders to his aides to look for evidence of Iraqi involvement, according to notes taken by one of them.
"Hard to get good case. Need to move swiftly," the notes say. "Near term target needs - go massive - sweep it all up, things related and not."

The handwritten notes, with some parts blanked out, were declassified this month in response to a request by a law student and blogger, Thad Anderson, under the US Freedom of Information Act. Anderson has posted them on his blog at outragedmoderates.org.

The Pentagon confirmed the notes had been taken by Stephen Cambone, now undersecretary of defence for intelligence and then a senior policy official. "His notes were fulfilling his role as a plans guy," said a spokesman, Greg Hicks.
"He was responsible for crisis planning, and he was with the secretary in that role that afternoon."

The report said: "On the afternoon of 9/11, according to contemporaneous notes, Secretary Rumsfeld instructed General Myers [the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff] to obtain quickly as much information as possible. The notes indicate that he also told Myers that he was not simply interested in striking empty training sites. He thought the US response should consider a wide range of options.

"The secretary said his instinct was to hit Saddam Hussein at the same time, not only Bin Laden. Secretary Rumsfeld later explained that at the time he had been considering either one of them, or perhaps someone else, as the responsible party."

The actual notes suggest a focus on Saddam. "Best info fast. Judge whether good enough [to] hit SH at same time - not only UBL [Pentagon shorthand for Usama/Osama bin Laden]," the notes say. "Tasks. Jim Haynes [Pentagon lawyer] to talk with PW [probably Paul Wolfowitz, then Mr Rumsfeld's deputy] for additional support ... connection with UBL."

Mr Wolfowitz, now the head of the World Bank, advocated regime change in Iraq before 2001. But, according to an account of the days after September 11 in Bob Woodward's book Plan of Attack, a decision was taken to put off consideration of an attack on Iraq until after the Taliban had been toppled in Afghanistan.

But these notes confirm that Baghdad was in the Pentagon's sights almost as soon as the hijackers struck.

Experts conclude Vice President possessed foreknowledge and suggest Moussaoui trial a "distraction"

(I-Newswire) - Duluth, MN: March 13, 2006 -- A society of experts and scholars contends that the prosecution of Zacarias Moussaoui--for willfully concealing advance knowledge of the events of 9/11 -- has the status of a Soviet-style "show trial" and functions as a diversion from the real culprits. The nonpartisan group, Scholars for 9/11 Truth, asserts that the evidence implicating Vice President Dick Cheney of that very offense is more obvious and compelling. If they are even remotely correct, then the alleged terrorists appear to have been cast in the role of "patsies."

The experts base their conclusion on testimony presented to the 9/11 Commission by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta on May 23, 2003, which was omitted from its final report, and on related events at the Pentagon. Members of the society will present their findings during a press conference to be held at 1 PM on Tuesday at the United States Courthouse in Alexandria, VA, the location of a hearing to determine whether Moussaoui, who is called "the 20th hijacker", should serve a life term or receive the death sentence.

"Mineta's testimony is devastating," observed James H. Fetzer, Ph.D., McKnight Professor at the University of Minnesota. Fetzer is the founder and co-chair of the scholars' society, which recently joined with Judicial Watch in calling for release of documents, films and videos, and physical evidence withheld from the public by the administration. "It pulls the plug on the Commission's contention there was no advance warning that the Pentagon was going to be hit."

According to Secretary Mineta's testimony, which is in the public domain, when he ( Mineta ) arrived at an underground bunker at the White House ( known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center ), the Vice President was in charge. "During the time that the airplane was coming in to the Pentagon", he stated, "there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President, 'The plane is 50 miles out.' 'The plane is 30 miles out.'

"And when it got down to, 'The plane is 10 miles out,'" Mineta continued, "the young man also said to the Vice President, 'Do the orders still stand?' And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said, 'Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?'"

"The only reasonable interpretation of the orders," Fetzer observed, "is that the incoming aircraft should not be shot down".

Philip J. Berg, Esq., Former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, added, "Those who made it happen were obviously in the position to know that it was going to happen and therefore could have sounded a warning alarm. The case against Cheney is more powerful than the case against Moussaoui. No one is more culpable than the perpetrators. If Moussaoui deserves the death penalty, what does our Vice President deserve?"

Other members of the society include Robert Bowman, head of the "Star Wars" program in both Democratic and Republican administrations; Morgan Reynolds, former Chief Economist for the Department of Labor in the Bush administration; Andreas von Buelow, former assistant defense minister of Germany; Steven E. The US government's attempt to impose the death penalty on Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person convicted in the US for the September 11 attacks, looked close to collapse yesterday after a prosecution lawyer was found to have improperly coached witnesses.

Leonie Brinkema, the judge at Moussaoui's sentencing trial, angrily suspended the hearing after it was found that seven government witnesses from the Federal Aviation Administration had been shown transcripts of the opening statements and other testimony before they testified, a blatant violation of a court order aimed at stopping witnesses coordinating testimony.

"In all the years I've been on the bench, I have never seen such an egregious violation of a rule on witnesses," Judge Brinkema said, noting it was the second significant error by the prosecution. On Thursday, prosecutors asked an FBI witness a question that had already been ruled out of order.

The judge called a hearing for today to question the seven witnesses before deciding on further action.

Moussaoui, a Frenchman who appeared to have been radicalised while living in London, was arrested in August 2001 after arousing the suspicions of his instructors at a flight school in Minnesota.

He pleaded guilty to involvement in the September 11 plot last year and at the trial to determine his sentence, government prosecutors have argued that his failure to tip off federal investigators about the impending attack warranted execution. However, the judge has already warned government lawyers that they are on shaky ground as she could think of no precedent in which a failure to act was punishable by death. If execution is ruled out, Moussaoui, 37, will be given a life sentence.

After the prosecution admitted coaching the FAA witnesses, the defence lawyer, Edward MacMahon, called on the judge to dismiss the death penalty option, arguing "this is not going to be a fair trial".

"The proceedings should just be dismissed and Mr Moussaoui sentenced to life in prison," Mr MacMahon said, adding the judge should, at the very least, dismiss the witnesses affected.

The prosecution protested that the exclusion of those witnesses would "exclude half the government's case". A government lawyer, David Novak, suggested that the problem could be solved by vigorous cross-examination of the witnesses.

Last week, the court heard about how Moussaoui's behaviour had raised suspicions. His flight instructor, Clarence Prevost, said it seemed odd that someone who was not even qualified to fly a small private plane wanted lessons on a Boeing 747-400 flight simulator at the Pan Am International Flight Academy in Minneapolis. He became even more alarmed when he heard that the student had paid for the lessons with $100 notes.

Mr Prevost called the FBI to express his concerns and Moussaoui was arrested, initially on immigration charges.

Moussaoui apparently had little talent at the simulator controls. He had earlier tried to learn at an Oklahoma flight school but made little progress. However, Mr Prevost testified that after four lessons, Moussaoui would have been able to push the right buttons on the computer console to keep the plane flying after a hijacking.

The prosecution alleges that he was a standby hijacker intimately involved in the September 11 plot.

Why is it that a hapless loner, Zacarias Moussaoui, faces a death sentence or life imprisonment for 9/11? He is blamed for all the deaths and destruction in what may be the only trial we’ll ever see to address the real perpetrators of America’s stunning tragedy.

No evidence to link Moussaoui to the “hijackers,” but recollection that he was on the same path with them to strike. Wow, there’s classy reporting, not to mention a dubious argument for the prosecution, provided by a “terror banker” facing a lifetime in an Asian slammer.

And you can stop, go back, listen, see over and over the 9/11 footage and facts, and write things down, till you’ve got the real story straight.

September 11 was an inside job, acted out with ruthless military precision and for purely political motives by the administration and the elite power entities which run it. Take that to the memory bank and save it.

"The Moussaouian Candidate"

The above title (from an anonymous reader) is a play on The Manchurian Candidate -- the chilling 1962 John Frankenheimer film about a brainwashed Korean War hero programmed by Chinese and Russian communists to assassinate a US presidential candidate on command. Today, 42 years after the film’s release, two years after its remake by Jonathan Demme, we have the lone patsy for the 9/11 deaths and destruction turning out to be a star witness for the prosecution against himself.

This is beyond a misguided braggadocio. Describing Zacarias Moussaoui, the chief strategist for a South Asian terror group, Nurjaman Riduan Isamuddin (short-named Hambali), who worked with ‘al-Qaeda’ and Moussaoui, called him ‘very troubled, not right in the head.” I would go beyond that and elevate him to Manchurian Candidate status, programmed however we define it: drugged, hypnotized, sleep-deprived, mind-screwed, even beset with the misguided Muslim call (inner and outer) to martyrdom, in this case a call to self-destruct to preserve the 9/11 mythology.

The case of Palestinian professor and activist Sami al-Arian took another turn this week when a federal judge in Florida sentenced him to another year and a half in prison.

Al-Arian has been at the center of one of the most closely watched - and controversial - post 9/11 prosecutions. He was arrested in February 2003 and accused of being a leader of the militant group Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The government's case against Al-Arian included 11 years of FBI wiretaps and searches, three years of trial preparation by federal prosecutors, millions of dollars in costs and a six-month trial that ended last December.

At the end of it all, the jury failed to return a single guilty verdict on any of the 53 criminal counts brought against Al-Arian and three co-defendants. One of those co-defendants - Sameeh Hammoudeh - will join us on the phone from a Florida jail in a few minutes. He remains imprisoned despite being acquitted of all the charges against him. Al-Arian himself was acquitted on eight counts and the jury hung on nine others.
