Learn to say Please, Mr. President
Mr. President,Now that a thumping smack has been delivered by American voters to the backside of the Empire building hallucinations of your sponsors, leaving your presidential future effectively bowdlerized, you are well advised to start learning to say ‘please’ to lessen the pain of the remaining two years. Learn to say Please Mr. President because with a whole bunch of Repub-mangled Congressmen let loose upon the Capitol Hill, your interaction with the Dem-dominated Congress will tend to be complicated and emotionally draining exercise for you. The ‘please’ word will act like a balm to the political sores that you are likely to get from the chafing. Learn to say Please Mr. President because control tactics such as threatening, shaming, or fear mongering will not get you what you want from now onward. What is more, regular use of words like ‘please and ‘thank you’ might just numb the sting of being a political outcast and a sitting President. Learn to say Please Mr. President while giving directions, making requests, or asking questions of this new Congress. Also, while you are at it, learn not to scowl, shake your finger and glare at the new house. That tends to have a goading effect on the addressees and that is not exactly what you want. Learn to say Please Mr. President while we the world watch the Democrats who also had a congressional majority during the Vietnam war and whose 2004 presidential hopeful John Kerry made a big deal of his Vietnam exploits and to whose party's intransigence a large portion of the million plus Vietnamese death toll can safely be attributed and whose party is still struggling to shrug off that defeatist label and in doing that fielded not only Jim Webb, a Vietnam veteran, for the Virginia senate seat but also a dozen more war heroes around the country. Learn to say Please Mr. President while we now watch the Democrats who until now have been hurling criticism from the safety of the sidelines while your Repub infested House was cheering you on in your world bashing in general and the Iraq genocide in particular. Not only that, while you are busy learning your act, we will also watch them deliver on issues such as the Israel-Palestine conflict, Iran and global warming. But leave that to us Mr. President, you just learn to say please. Learn to say Please Mr. President but it won’t hurt if you also learn to show respectful behavior toward your detractors, giving polite responses, avoiding overreacting, expecting disagreements and not having dinner with shady characters of the Karl Rove kind. Learn to say Please Mr. President and try to display deference to other world leaders. Although we understand that respect is an attitude and it is kind of late for you to let it grow on you, but only thus can you have some coming your way and God knows you need it more than any other single thing now that you are in a political swamp of your own making. All the while keep in mind the saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Learn to say Please Mr. President and try to discard the old habit of lying through your teeth from now on. Stop focusing just on your needs, making negative assumptions about others, jumping to conclusions, exerting control over others against their will, blaming others for problems and events, delivering personal insults to other world leaders etc. etc. Try some thing new like being honest, being positive, being trusting, being fair, being reliable, obeying laws of the land, being caring, and avoiding poor role models. You will find a whole new world of opportunities waiting for you if you adopt just some of what is being recommended. Learn to say Please Mr. President but most important of all, tell your Neocon masters to now lay off for a while, what with their still born vision roller coastering down toward the murky depths of eternal doom. Point out your old concentration span limitation and the new circumstances and ask to be tasked for only one thing at a time from now on. Tell them that in these remaining two years of your ignoble presidency, whenever they want to give you new instructions, they should call your name, allow time for you to turn your attention towards them, wait for an eye contact, then give you new instructions, order you about or whatever else. More than that and you are bust, tell them that. Have a great day Mr. President and learn to say please. Yours Truly, Anwaar Hussain

This is so funny, Anwaar. Well done! You got it exactly right, and I doubt any of the American commentators or bloggers will hit the nail on the head as precisely as you have done. I love it!
Keep it up!

Anwaar:
I did like your article so; I never could stand it when Bush leans into the podium, squints, smirks, and points his finger.
You know, if it wasn't published in 1935, one would think that Buzz Windrip in Sinclair Lewis': It Can't Happen Here, was a characterization of GW.
You have ripped away Bush's smug platitudes to give readers a truthful look at my country's leader.

Dear Anwaar, For once, I must disagree with one of your columns. Your current letter to George Bush is excellent and insightful. However, you are assuming George Bush is a rational human being. In addition, you are assuming the Democratic Party will take him to task. Neither is true. Look at Congressman Conyers. Last year, he convened a committee to look into the wrongdoings of the Bush administration. He was only allowed to meet with his group in a cellar. Conyers has been one of a few U.S. Congresspeople over the years who really does understand the evils of imperialism and racism. But, just yesterday, he said impeachment of Bush will not happen. Last December, his committee was set up to find impeachable offenses. Nancy Pelosi will be the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. One of her first statements was that impeachment is off the table. One of her next statements was how much she loves Israel. And, don't forget that Hillary Clinton refused a campaign contribution from a moderate U.S. Arab group for her senatorial campaign. Most Democrats have been bending over backwards to placate the losers and telling the Republicans that they all can get along. They say they will not rock the boat. I agree they should not rock the boat: they should SINK the boat. I only hope you are right and I am wrong. Here's my current take on the issue. Jeff

Bush's limp handling of the war is one of the reason his party was rejected this year (although domestic issues played a more critical role).
"Please" will get Bush nowhere. Bush must be even more agressive now as it will be even more important to paint opponents to his Iraq policy as "cut and runners".
The only way he will be able to do that will be to be far more agressive on the war. As success is hard to criticize and those who do criticize agressive war tactics will pay for it at the polls.
Bush must now more than ever show himself as the "Alpha Male" and take what he wants without any niceties. It is how he will win back his base. It is how he will regain American support.
People want "Jack Bauer". People want to see the "President at the bullhorn" that they saw in the weeks after 9-11 (where his popularity was the highest it was in his whole Presidency).
We want to see again that President who said that al Quada was wrong if they thought our response to 9-11 would to be to simply attempt to sue them (one of the greatest lines of his whole presidency).
We were sending him a message. Stop being a Wimp!
Hopefully he heard us.
Hopefully the world heard us.
And hopefully the terrorists will be hearing from all of us pretty soon as we take the battle to them so we don't have to fight it over here.

Bush and Rumsfeld and Cheney are NOT Neo-cons---they are cons---long time conervatives.
The NEO-cons are those who used to be part of the pro-Israel Liberal Democratic Party.
Having already taken control of the Democratic Party---they then went over to the Republican Party to masquerade as "Conservatives"---but, of course, NEW-Conservatives,...Neo-conservatives---Neo-Cons.
Yes---Neo-Cons are Jews who for the sake of propping up Israel's fascism---went over to the Republican Party to control it for the benefit of Israel--the way they did the Democratic Party. Haven't you ever noticed how Nancy Pelosi , head of the Democrats, GROVELS before AIPAC???
some of the neo-cons are Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Richard Perle, etc, etc, etc.
You'll notice that now that they got stupid Bush to fight Israel's war they have moved on.

Anwaar, we may disagree with everything else but we do agree with this one thing. The Pro Israel lobby is way to strong. No foreign lobby regardless of country should have such influence over American politicians. But unfortanately it isn't only Israel that is doing this but the Indians are now doing it as well. And they are getting American citizens to do it. People who immigrated from their country and got US citizenship but obviously in their hearts still holding loyalty to the "old country". Any US citizen having a loyality to any other country apart from America makes them a traitor in my book which would include lots and lots of so called "American" Jews as well as I guess now many Indians. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/N-deal_Lobbyists_not_to_rely_on_dame_luck_during_lame_duck/articleshow/402168.cmstinyurl.com/y89hve

'Please' is not a part of Bush's dictionary. It only goes to show his arrogance. It is this arrogance that got the Americans stuck in the Iraqi quagmire and cost the Republicans their rubberstamp majority rule.

I find it odd that the US is giving India a nuke deal even after it has been found out that one of their citizens have been spying on us on their behalf (yeah I know he is a naturalized US citizen but I guess that didn't stop him from having his loyalty remain with India). www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/786501.html

' It is this arrogance that got the Americans stuck in the Iraqi quagmire and cost the Republicans their rubberstamp majority rule. Adnan, you have no idea what is going on in America. The Republican lost was mostly due to a scandal with a gay Republican Congressman trying to sexually entice underaged males who were "pages". Pages are appointed and sponsored by a member of Congress and must be high school juniors and at least sixteen years old. Senate Page duties consist primarily of delivery of correspondence and legislative material within the Congressional complex. Other duties include preparing the chamber for Senate sessions, and carrying bills and amendments to the desk. Pages also attend classes in the early morning . For many young people involved in the program this can be the first time they are outside of parential control. When people found out that such vulnerable young people were being preyed upon by a Republican legislator and that the leadership of the Republicans might have even knew about it but did little to stop it they threw the Republicans out of power. And although I am conservative I say - GOOD ! The Republicans deserved it after how they let Congressman Mark Foley go around preying upon these young people! So, see, Iraq was really more of a side issue in this campaign. There were other issues involved in the Republican lost as well - mostly internal issues that I have mentioned in previous posts that you could read about there as well.

About 2 months ago Bush bought 98 Thousand acres in a nation that has no Law against war crimes. Maybe he saw the hand writing on the wall. You won’t hear too much about war with Iran from Bush, I think the cat has got his tongue. Talk is, he will be impeached. The Republican Party is in a bad mess.
Democrat or Republican, Both belong to the Illuminati. I think they will withdraw from Iraq. If its no different in 6 months than it is now, something is not Kosher in America. Then we can start blaming the Democrats, Because for at least 2 years, They have been calling for withdrawal from Iraq. I would hope they do it a lot sooner.

Here is what my friend Jeff Archer writes on the subject. I must say I share his foreboding to a great extent. What say others?
TOO EARLY TO CELEBRATE There is a God. Camelot is just around the corner. Bush lost the House of Representatives and the Senate. Rumsfeld resigned. The U.S. is pulling its troops out of Iraq. Happy days are here again. Bullshit! Fairy tales are for kids. The left press and its supporters have gone berserk. For months, we have been told that a change in the makeup of the U.S. Congress will turn this country around and we all can look to many different policies. Today, they are in a jubilant mood. Six months from now, however, they will be just as gloomy as they were during the Bush days; maybe even more so. The big issue was the Iraq war. Most voters were conned into believing that a Democratic victory would begin an exit from Iraq. I only wish I could find some of the hallucinatory stuff they are smoking. First of all, 14 permanent U.S. military bases are being built in Iraq by around-the-clock workforces. They will not be turned into Disney parks or mini golf courses. Four of them are super-bases that will be able to house thousands of troops. Just down the road in Baghdad’s "Green Zone," the largest embassy in the history of the world is being built. It will house 8,000 permanent employees (mostly spies) and will be larger than the country of the Vatican. These bases and the embassy are here to stay. No amount of Democratic opposition will change that. Probably, few Democrats would even want to change the situation. Many Democrats ran in the last election disguised as "anti-war" candidates. They fooled many voters. There message was "The war was handled wrong," not, "The war was wrong." Former pro-war advocates Kerry and Edwards are criticizing the Bush administration about the handling of the war. Both, in November 2002, gave Bush permission to invade Iraq. Both spoke of the thousands of tons of chemical and biological weapons Saddam Hussein possessed, as well as the almost complete nuclear bomb Iraq was working on. You might think that the Democrats would have used the sham trial of Saddam Hussein as ammunition against the Republicans. Wrong again. When the verdict of Saddam’s hanging was announced, here’s what some of the Dems said: * Howard Dean (guru for the anti-war left): "The court’s decision is a great victory. Hussein’s a war criminal and he’s getting just what he deserved." * Hillary Clinton: "Now that Saddam is finally held accountable for his misrule of that country, I hope people will be able to move forward." * Senator Charles Schumer of New York: "Hussein was a brutal, evil dictator who is getting the punishment that he deserves." With Democrats speaking like that, the Republicans can remain mute. In some ways, a Democratic majority may be even more dangerous than the Republican-held Congress. Bush still has his wacko Cabinet and he is so thick-headed that he may veto every bit of legislation that comes his way. Rumsfeld is gone, you may say. So what? He is being replaced by Bob Gates, a lifetime liar and purveyor of dirty tricks. He was a main player in the Iran-Contra affair. The U.S. sold missiles to Iran, with Israel getting its 10% commission for being the middle-man. When the story broke, Gates denied it. A few years later, he apologized for lying. Then, Bush I made him CIA director and he was the architect of all the lies perpetrated against Iraq before, during, and after the 1991 Gulf War. The U.S. is in Iraq to stay, regardless of what the Democrats said (actually, few or none stated the U.S. should withdraw immediately and unconditionally). Many voters cast their ballots because they were conned into believing that the Democrats would get the U.S. out of Iraq. If one listened carefully to the campaign statements, the removal of U.S. troops from Iraq was not on the agenda. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. Link : malcomlagauche.com/id1.html

Where did you ever get the idea that the voters turned on Bush because he stopped being macho enough? This is absurd, the voters turned on you Republicans because you are more corrupt than the MAFIA, because you have almost destroyed the USA by attacking personal rights and freedoms as in the Constitution, because you have lied when telling the truth would have done you good, because you have made the USA the most hated nation in the world, etc., and now I have to hear you say it is because Bush started acting like a wimp, my God, will you people ever open your eyes to the truth, those who supported the Bush Junta should all be charged with treason, and my hope is that names and dates will be noted, and records kept, and justice be meted out to those who seem to have enough intelligence to know better, you are just plain sick!!!!!!!!!

Jon keep on believing the lies that you are telling yourself. The main reason the Republicans lost was because of Mark Foley. If you would have listened to Michael Savage in the months before the election you would have seen it coming. streamingradioguide.com/radio-show.php?show=328And yeah, to the extent Iraq had anything to do with it, we wanted to see a more macho Bush. We wanted back that President with a bullhorn on top of the wreckage of the WTF center. We haven't seen that President for quite some time now.

Gus: Your chances of finding a sympathetic ear from our members here for Michael Savage are nil. You also should seriously investigate information provided here at the forum on 9/11. The fact of the matter is that Bush was elected, twice, through massive fraud at the voting booths. He is an embarassment to our country. The man can't string two words together, is the only president we've ever had with a criminal record, has been a dismal failure at everything he touched, went awol during his military service and was bailed out due to his family's elitist position, and is the most unqualified public official, let alone our Commander in Chief, this country has ever seen. Macho? Have you ever watched him when he's in a room where the journalists aren't hand picked for asking 'safe' questions? I wouldn't be surprized if he has pee stains on his pants, behind the podium! Furthermore, homophobia should not be one of the driving forces behind our political agenda; look where that got you. Please, enough about Mark Foley; it was people from your type of consituency that put hypocrites like Foley in positions of power and leadership. You are entitled to your own beliefs, and I can respect you when civil, thoughtful debate and analysis are presented. The domestic issues that put the Democrats into power are concerns that affect the livelihood of Americans. The Bush Administration, in a short time, has dismanteled years of struggle and effort put into social programs that helped to lift the disadvantaged out of poverty, and gave working Americans equal playing ground with their employers. The Bush Adminstration has manage to give full and complete power to corporations over our lives and the ability to run roughshod over the entire planet, at the expense of the planet's ability to be able to continue to support her inhabitants. These are some of the many concerns we have here at Fountainhead. Michelle
