[glow=red,2,300]We're at a showdown with the Bush Adminstration, Folks![/glow]
OK, I just posted the following:
This week, on July 17th, Bush signed an Executive Order blocking property of anyone who threatens "stabilization efforts in Iraq." I would assume that means anyone who opposes his policies and you, united States citizens, would not be exempt from this. Perhaps that is why he ceded Presidential power to Cheney today, this Saturday, during a routine colonoscopy....Michelle

everything is in readiness....
All the highly astute trip wires in Washington DC, New York, and elsewhere are buzzing angrily like bees in an hive which has been invaded. They are all shouting about the sudden implementation of dictatorial powers by Bush this past two weeks They should be shouting. Its true. By unilateral action, unannounced to the media and the public, Bush has declared an exceptional "State of Emergency" in both Iraq and the U.S. and has enabled the military and all police forces in the U.S. with extraordinary "martial law" powers, including the ability of Bush's marshals and agents to seize all property and assets of anybody (in the world) they decide is obstructing the war and pacification programs, is sympathizing with programs to oppose the war policies, or is undermining the management and administration of the programs.
ANYBODY IN THE WORLD ANYWHERE.
That means, there is no law anywhere except our rule. Hail Caesar.
These measures are not aimed at fighters and armed insurgents. They are aimed at PEOPLE EVERYWHERE in the world, most definitely including here, to "terrorize' people into quiet acquiescence with the wars that are being waged by government designated, Zionist controlled or manipulated mobs.
In essence, the Jackboots are firmly in control. The political system failed, corrupted out by plutocrat money. The Republic is now completely gone, the constitution completely ignored by a lawyering class which refuses to enforce its provisions. The laws mean nothing. The courts mean nothing. The Congress means nothing. The police state can do what ever it wants to do with you under this seizure of power.
Some of the loudest shouters are old time conservatives, Barry Goldwater or Reagan conservatives, who have been in Washington DC for the past generation and can plainly see "wha's up". Pat Buchanan. Paul Craig Roberts. Thomm Hartman (links below) is a regular and excellent source who is right on top of it. Capitol Hill Blue is not quite there, they are very good at exposing the lies and hypocrisies but they don't get that Cheney/Rove/Bush are three steps of ahead of the game driving the U.S. into a massive imperial expansion with warfare active throughout most of southern Eurasia.
Essentially, all is institutionally in place for a vast expansion of the war programs and a national program of terror which "chills" the majority of the population into quiet acquiescence to the product of Diebold's magical "voting" machines. They don't even have to arrest your arse. They do not have to charge you with a crime. They put your name on a list". You have heard of the "no-fly list"? Now they have the "no exist list". Then they just surgically remove you from your cards, your bank accounts, your cars, and your home and leave you floundering in the street. They have all the machinery in place, they invented it with the "war on drugs", all the mechanisms and know how to seize all personal assets - all in violation by the way of the constitution for the past 30 years which outlaws any "administrative seizures" of property in advance of a jury trial. That's why Bush called the Constitution just a god-damned piece of paper. It hurts like hell to agree with Bush. But, now....It is. Now they are going to apply the same "war on drugs" machinery to the "war of terror" by personally scaring the crap out of anybody who disagrees with them. Until now, every one believed they could get their day in court and prove the government wrong. This chilled the bureaucrats out of much mischief. Now, no problemo Senior, we just removed the courts. Now do you see why the Justice Department is currently headed by the most obviously ill-informed worst toady in recorded Anglo-American history? No problemo Senior, we got no more courts to worry about. As your attorney general, I recommend to appoint Ann Coulter to head the committee investigating reporters and blogsters and iway sites who are aiding and abetting the psy-ops propaganda campaigns of people who are undermining the National Security State. Sieg!
Get it. Sauron rises in Mordor. The "Eye" is everywhere, seeking out the Rings of Power, and the One Ring to rule them all.. Soon he will begin his bid to take Gondoland, the Nation of Man.
Listen to Roberts through the link below. If the Bush Mob is not derailed during the next three months, communications through the iway on these topics may well become 'history". Our "virtual" freedom here could come under direct supervision of Ann Coulter "cop committees" who threaten our ISP's with seizure of their ownership, etc. for supporting the likes of Hartmann's and Mandeville's denouncement of the "national security state". Sieg!
Roberts makes the chilling argument that the Cheney/Rove/Bush mob have in mind an emotional catastrophe which gives the media several weeks to pump and hump a mass reaction of unthinking reaction to engage in exceptionally violent revenge. This will give them another massive "reprogramming" of public consciousness to repolarize into the Republicrat War Party in opposition to any and all targets in Africa and the Middle-East to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Likely it is that another secret CIA war front will begin as well to take out the progressive governments in Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Likely we will be given quite a show of all the popular jingo bigot Boogiemen of yesteryear: communists, socialists, chinks, palestinoterrorinjuns, arabmen, anti-semitic thugs, Muslimofascist towelheads, alQaeda (CIA database) evil-doers, Islamic extremist talibanipakis, and starring, of course, the King Kong of Boogiemen, the Ayatollah Boogie Iranman himself.
You also might want to catch the recent action of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Like his father, this man "gets it". He well understands that we are in mortal conflict with sinister mobs who work very hard at keeping themselves well hidden. Except of course for their pompous finger-puppets like "the decider".
Whatever happens, we doubtless are on the cusp of changes which will completely alter politics and government in the U.S. during the next 18 months. The maelstrom of change will envelop all of us and all of our fortunes. We here cannot refuse history, we cannot escape it. The America we grew up in and though we knew has already gone. And so, just as our time and condition is new, so must we think anew.

REPUBLICAN WARNS 'SOMETHING' IS IN THE WORKS TO BRING ABOUT POLICE STATE
Posted By: Jonathan
It may be happening sooner than we think. With all this news in the MSM about Osama's newest video message calling for martyrs to join the fray against western interests. Then an intelligence report released this week that stated Al-Qaeda is at it's strongest point since the US invaded Afghanistan. Makes you wonder. Is the police state coming or have plans already been put into works to assure that it will happen. I'll let you the reader decide.
( snip )
Thom Hartmann began his program on Thursday by reading from a new Executive Order which allows the government to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies.
He then introduced old-line conservative Paul Craig Roberts -- a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan who has recently become known for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War -- by quoting the "strong words" which open Roberts' latest column:
www.counterpunch.org/roberts07162007.html
"Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."
"I don't actually think they're very strong," said Roberts of his words. "I get a lot of flak that they're understated and the situation is worse than I say. ... When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order] ... there's no check to it. It doesn't have to be ratified by Congress. The people who bear the brunt of these dictatorial police state actions have no recourse to the judiciary. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule. ... The American people don't really understand the danger that they face."
Roberts said that because of Bush's unpopularity, the Republicans face a total wipeout in 2008, and this may be why "the Democrats have not brought a halt to Bush's follies or the war, because they expect his unpopular policies to provide them with a landslide victory in next year's election."
However, Roberts emphasized, "the problem with this reasoning is that it assumes that Cheney and Rove and the Republicans are ignorant of these facts, or it assumes that they are content for the Republican Party to be destroyed after Bush has his fling." Roberts believes instead that Cheney and Rove intend to use a renewal of the War on Terror to rally the American people around the Republican Party. "Something's in the works," he said, adding that the Executive Orders need to create a police state are already in place.
"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," Roberts continued. "Chertoff has predicted them. ... The National Intelligence Estimate is saying that al Qaeda has regrouped. ... You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda's not going to do it, it's going to be orchestrated. ... The Republicans are praying for another 9/11."
Hartmann asked what we as the people can do if impeachment isn't about to happen. "If enough people were suspicious and alert, it would be harder for the administration to get away with it," Roberts replied. However, he added, "I don't think these wake-up calls are likely to be effective," pointing out the dominance of the mainstream media.
"Americans think their danger is terrorists," said Roberts. "They don't understand the terrorists cannot take away habeas corpus, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution. ... The terrorists are not anything like the threat that we face to the Bill of Rights and the Constitution from our own government in the name of fighting terrorism. Americans just aren't able to perceive that."
Roberts pointed out that it's old-line Republicans like himself, former Reagan associate deputy attorney general Bruce Fein, and Pat Buchanan who are the diehards in warning of the danger. "It's so obvious to people like us who have long been associated in the corridors of power," he said. "There's no belief in the people or anything like that. They have agendas. The people are in the way. The Constitution is in the way. ... Americans need to comprehend and look at how ruthless Cheney is. ... A person like that would do anything."
Roberts final suggestion was that, in the absence of a massive popular outcry, "the only constraints on what's going to happen will come from the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military. They may have had enough. They may not go along with it."

White House preparing to stage new September 11 - Reagan official (20/ 07/ 2007) en.rian.ru/world/20070720/69340886.html
WASHINGTON, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country.Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: "When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there's no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule." "The American people don't really understand the danger that they face," Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party. Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values. According to a July 9-11 survey by Ipsos, an international public opinion research company, President Bush and the Republicans can claim a mere 31 percent approval rating for their handling of the Iraq war and 38 percent for their foreign policy in general, including terrorism."The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," he said. "You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated."Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush's current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship. "They may have had enough. They may not go along with it," he said. The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert's latest column, in which he warned that "unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."Roberts, who has been dubbed the "Father of Reaganomics" and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War, regularly contributes articles to Creators Syndicate, an independent distributor of comic strips and syndicated columns for daily newspapers.
New Executive Order Stomps on the Fifth Amendment (July 19)
www.gambling911.com/Executive-Order-Fifth-Ammendment-071907.html
Did anyone get the license plate of that Mack truck that ran us over yesterday? By executive order, the Secretary of the Treasury may now seize the property of any person who undermines efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq. The Secretary may make his determination in secret and after the fact. What's it say, you ask? The White House will decide if you are in any way “undermining efforts” in Iraq, or related to Iraq or pretty much anything else, the Treasury Department is authorized to seize your money, property, stocks, etcAlthough good in overall notion (stop terrorist funding), the ridiculously broad language in this order takes the 5th amendment, and flushes it down the toilet. As an example, if it appears that if you, say, donate to a charity that the Bush administration determines, without any proof, is trying to undermine the Iraqi government, all of your assets can be frozen. No due process, do not pass go. The order permits the targeting of those who aid someone else whose assets have been blocked under the order -- wittingly or not. And under Section Five, the government does not have to disclose which organizations are subject to having their assets frozen (...) The scope of the order has raised civil-liberties concerns. "Certainly it is highly constitutionally questionable to empower the government to destroy someone economically without giving notice," says Bruce Fein, a Justice Department official in the Reagan administration. "This is so sweeping it's staggering. I've never seen anything so broad that it expands beyond terrorism, beyond seeking to use violence or the threat of violence to cower or intimidate a population. This covers stabilization in Iraq. I suppose you could issue an executive order about stabilization in Afghanistan as well. And it goes beyond even attempting violence, to cover those who pose 'a significant risk' of violence. Suppose Congress passed a law saying you've committed a crime if there's significant risk that you might commit a crime." How does the Secretary of the Treasury feel about a t-shirt that says, 'Stop the War?' Is such a T-shirt considered destabilizing? --- More on this through www.rense.com/general77/asset.htm
Martial Law: Working for the Clampdown
zmagsite.zmag.org/JulAug2007/bovard.html
How many pipe bombs might it take to end U.S. democracy? Far fewer than it would have taken a year ago. The Defense Authorization Act of 2006, passed on September 30, empowers President George W. Bush to impose martial law in the event of a terrorist “incident” or if he or other federal officials perceive a shortfall of “public order” or even in response to antiwar protests that get unruly as a result of government provocations. The media and most of Capitol Hill ignored or cheered on this grant of nearly boundless power. But now that the president’s arsenal of authority is swollen and consecrated, a few voices of complaint are being heard. Even the New York Times recently condemned the new law for “making martial law easier.” It took a few paragraphs in a $500 billion, 591-page bill to destroy one of the most important limits on federal power. Congress passed the Insurrection Act in 1807 to severely restrict the president’s ability to deploy the military within the United States. The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 tightened these restrictions, imposing a two-year prison sentence on anyone who used the military within the U.S. without the permission of Congress. But there was a loophole: Posse Comitatus is waived if the president invokes the Insurrection Act. (...) The new law also empowers the president to commandeer the National Guard of one state to send to another state for up to 365 days. Bush could send the New York National Guard to disarm the residents of Mississippi if they resisted a federal law that prohibited private ownership of semiautomatic weapons. Governors’ control of the National Guard can be trumped with a simple presidential declaration. The story of how Section 1076 became law demonstrates how expanding government power is almost always the correct answer in Washington. Some people have claimed the provision was slipped into the bill in the middle of the night. In reality, the Administration signaled its intent and almost no one in the media or Congress tried to stop it. (...) On February 24, the White House conducted a highly publicized drill to test responses to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) going off simultaneously in ten American cities. The White House has not disclosed the details of how the feds responded, but it would be out of character for this president to let new powers he sought to gather dust. There is nothing to prevent presidents from declaring martial law on a pretext than there is to prevent them from launching a war on the basis of manufactured intelligence. CLIP

Classified info - The congressman wanted to see government plans for after a terror attack - WASHINGTON -- Oregonians called Peter DeFazio's office, worried there was a conspiracy buried in the classified portion of a White House plan for operating the government after a terrorist attack. As a member of the U.S. House on the Homeland Security Committee, DeFazio, D-Ore., is permitted to enter a secure "bubbleroom" in the Capitol and examine classified material. So he asked the White House to see the secret documents. On Wednesday, DeFazio got his answer: DENIED. "I just can't believe they're going to deny a member of Congress the right of reviewing how they plan to conduct the government of the United States after a significant terrorist attack," DeFazio says. (...) This is the first time DeFazio has been denied access to documents. DeFazio has asked Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., to help him access the documents. "Maybe the people who think there's a conspiracy out there are right," DeFazio said.
WARNING: A Real Dictatorship Coming! (July 20, 200)
www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/7/20/83134/7689
There was a diary the other day on this and I read it and like other warnings before, I shrugged my shoulders and said what can I do about it? Then I read an article that referred to the latest Executive Order from President Bush. That article refers to a radio interview on Air America's Thom Hartmann Show and also references an article written by a Mr. Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, former Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page and Contributing Editor of National Review. Not the sort of person who would frequent Daily Kos as an ally. (...) I have never in my 50 years of life been more frightened then I am now. I have seen the arrogance of this White House and the massive damage done to our country. But the Katrina-size storm clouds are gathering folks. If we do not wake up now and flood Congress to impeach the President and Vice President, one year from now, Daily Kos may be banned and Markos himself may be disappeared, in a federal prison somewhere.Even as I write these words I feel like a wild-eyed nutcase. If it were not for the OH SO REAL danger this country faces in the next 15 months or so as the people in power see their own doom and are determined to prevent their expulsion from power by suspending next year's elections and declaring martial law WHEN the next 9/11 comes or events that can be construed as a national emergency to "justify" such actions, I would be holding my tongue and crossing my fingers.(...) And maybe Washington can help precipitate a 9/11 by attacking Iran and causing groups like Hezbollah to launch attacks on American soil - the President then carries out his many executive orders and in effect suspends all Constitutional rights and effects martial law. This is deadly serious folks. This is not just another diary. We ignore this threat at our own peril. I would suggest even I in writing articles like this and the many writers at Daily Kos are personally at risk of being arrested in a future dictatorial United States. The government will use these writings as an excuse to put us away.Is that what you want? Do we just lie down and accept our fate? That our precious Constitutional democracy is on its deathbed? Are my writings the writings of a mad man, a silly alarmist? Do I over blow the danger? Is Paul Craig Roberts, a man who has been in the halls of power, a mad man? [glow=red,2,300]I say WAKE UP! Roberts believes instead that Cheney and Rove intend to use a renewal of the War on Terror to rally the American people around the Republican Party.

CLIP
DeFazio asks, but he's denied access (July 20, 2007)
